Need to do research from home? The Library can help!
eBooks
- Click the "books" tab on the library's homepage, and you'll see an "eBooks only" check box.
- Once you find a title you like, click "online access" or "full text available."
- Authenticate with your SDSUid and password.
- Many of our ebooks have unlimited user access, so that multiple people can look at the same ebook.
- Another option is looking at our ebook collections, some of which are open access.
Full Text Articles
- We've got thousands of full text articles that you can access from anywhere.
- Click the "articles" tab on the library's homepage, and you'll see a "Full Text Only" check box.
- Or search a subject-specific article database. Look for a PDF icon or a "Find it" icon to check if we have the article in full text.
- Authenticate with your SDSUid and password.
Dissertations and Theses
- Many U.S. dissertations are available as PDFs in Proquest Dissertations & Theses Global.
- Many SDSU theses are available as PDFs in OneSearch. To find a thesis on a particular topic or written within a particular department, choose Subject in the pull-down menu and search "SDSU theses" followed by (topic or department.) For example: SDSU theses (anthropology).
- Authenticate with your SDSUid and password.
Data and Statistics
- We have a wide variety of databases containing data and statistics, in areas such as business, government, criminal justice, and more.
- Authenticate with your SDSUid and password.
Primary Sources
- Our Primary Sources guide has links to SDSU's digital collections as well as digital collections around the world.
- No need to authenticate, these materials are freely available.
Formatting Citations
- OneSearch and many article databases have an option to format a citation for you automatically, in whatever style your professor wants you to use. Look for the handy "Cite" button.
- Our "How to Cite Your Sources" guide has sections for every citation style, and links to reliable websites with examples, such as the famous Purdue Owl website.
