Words About Words and Pictures compares results from an analytic viewing of visual texts from Oliver Jeffers (2004, 2005, 2010) picture books with a selection of book reviewers comments and insights. Callow draws upon visual grammar, following Kress and Van Leeuwen’s (2006) multimodal framework, which also acknowledges the importance of interrogating and exploring texts with a critical and social justice perspective.
