Training Sessions for Scopus, SDSU’s New Research Database

Web of Science is going away December 22.  Scopus will take its place, offering more research coverage across disciplines, with more analytical tools, in a better search interface.  With a global research focus, Scopus allows you to search with confidence across multiple disciplines: Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Physical Sciences, Technology, Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities.

If you use online databases for research, metrics, or teaching – the Library invites you to attend training sessions on Scopus.

 

Thursday, November 7 – General sessions for all users

10:00-11:00 a.m.   OR   2:00-3:00 p.m.

Overview, literature discovery, data visualization tools, author profiles

 

Friday, November 8

10:00-11:00 a.m. Scopus for Teaching and Research

Focused on faculty and researchers: overview, basic search, author profiles, classroom use

 

12:00-1:00 p.m. Scholarly Profiles and Researcher Metrics

For faculty and librarians: owning your scholarly profile, increasing publication stats, and metrics

 

2:00-3:00 p.m. Scopus Office Hours

For anyone with questions

 

All sessions will take place In Room LA-76, Library Addition Basement.  Seating is limited; please RSVP.
